Black Finch Love Stories — Adrian and Erin
Adrian and Erin's Love Story ❤️
How did your love story start?
"We met at work! Adrian (Age) came by to introduce himself but forget to tell me his name (haha). He reminisces that he was impressed by my ability to complete a rubik's cube at a work trivia night. We tried to keep it under wraps 'til we were sure, but my dog (Ponyo) gave it away. She wasn't super friendly with anyone in the office, but strangely LOVED Age."
When did you know you had found your special person?
"Adrian says he knew straight away haha, I think for me (Erin) it came after a few months of dating where I could truly tell he accepted me exactly how I was."
How did the proposal go down?
"The day Age proposed was very ‘us’. We went on a dog-friendly bushwalk with Ponyo to Toorongo Falls. On the way back we stopped in Noojee by the river on the flats and had a beautiful picnic in the afternoon sun. Towards the end of the picnic, I looked at Age to offer him the last piece of bread, and he had this intense, nervous look on his face. Before I could ask, he grabbed my hands and said “You know how much I love you don’t you?” and then I started ugly crying and said “Is this really happening” and he said “Yep”, and pulled out the ring. It was so special because we love picnics, and the bush, and doing activities with Ponyo. It was so perfectly us!"
Favourite moment from the wedding
"Our ceremony. Our celebrant (Kate Mac) did such a beautiful job of sharing our story, making everyone feel relaxed and welcomed. It was so nice to reflect on our journey so far, and SUCH a special moment to make it official after seven years!"
Can you share some words on your Black Finch experience?
"Black Finch was a special part of our journey! So special in fact, our celebrant even mentioned it in the ceremony: "When Age designed Ez’s engagement ring he bought together elements of them both, Age likes simplicity and Ez wanted the stones to be sourced ethically. Their wedding bands are also a beautiful union of these values." I wanted the ring and proposal to be a surprise. The only thing I shared was that I loved Black Finch designs and the fact they ethically source stones. Age worked with the team to design something unique to me, and I had no idea. I love it, it's beautiful. We, of course, then had our wedding bands made there too."

Erin and Adrian's celebrant made a special mention of Erin and Adrian's Black Finch engagement ring and wedding rings:
"Ez and Age will now exchange rings. When Age designed Ez’s engagement ring he bought together elements of them both, Age likes simplicity and Ez wanted the stones to be sourced ethically. Their wedding bands are also a beautiful union of these values."
